The studio here in Romsey will be open to the public again this August! Hampshire Open Studios is an event where private studios and public galleries all over the county open their doors to the public. You can have a look at the places your local artists do their work, have a chat, and see some of their art and craft.
We'll have a group of artists together here once again, covering glass, ceramics, painting, photography and jewellery. More info as it becomes available...
Making Space in Leigh Park is having an Open Studios event to celebrate 10 years since they opened. All their current tenants will have their studios open, and you can see their work, as well as exhibitons of work and events they've had to Making Space over the years. The Inspired Exhibition is part of this event, and showcases the work of students who've been involved in our classes. Some of my students should have their work on display! Past tenants will have our work up there for you to have a look at too. It'll be a huge weekend.
This class is specially designed for people who have no experience at all, and would like to build their confidence with art in general, while learning a fun new skill and making something gorgeous. No need to be "artistic"! We'll share ideas and everyone will be guided along the way.
The library in Winchester has this lovely craft fair twice a year in their performance space - once in May and once around Christmas. I haven't done this one for a few years, so it'll be lovely to go back & see all the familiar faces. They generally have a wide mix of work - last time I remember there were a few jewellers of different styles, some ceramics, a couple of glass people, textiles and a landscape painter and one who did wildlife illustrations, amongst many others. No idea who'll be involved this year, so it'll be a surprise. Hope you come along & say hello!
Spend a few hours learning the basics of glass fusing, and creating an original and beautiful glass bowl of your own. If you already know what you're doing, you can use the session to continue your own work, or brush up on your skills with our new students.
Get your Christmas presents at Kate's Romsey studio, where you'll find work by 7 local Romsey artists and craftspeople. We'll have paintings and prints, woodwork, jewellery, ceramics and glass, as well as all the tea and cake you can eat. This is being run in association with The Art House in Romsey, just a few minutes walk away, where you'll find another group of artists as well.
